The Heart and Blood Pressure

Are you at risk for heart disease ?

A number of factors can influence your risk of having heart disease: age, nutrition, stress, alcohol consumption, smoking, diabetes, high blood pressure, family history, cholesterol, physical condition, weight, and oral contraceptives.

In collaboration with the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Québec, the Brunet-affiliated pharmacists suggest that you assess your risk for heart disease.

Question  of

  • Are you...?

  • Do you smoke?

  • Are you regularly exposed to second-hand smoke?

  • Are you physically active (rapid walking, cycling, swimming, dancing, etc.) for a total of 30 minutes per day, on most days?

  • Calculate your waist/hip size ratio.

  • How would you describe your dietary fat intake?

  • Do you experience a lot of stress at work or at home?

The higher your result, the higher the chance that your lifestyle increases your risk for heart disease and stroke. Take the situation into your own hands now. Talk to your Brunet pharmacist. He will give you advice on how to reduce your risk level.
