There is no magical formula to feeling beautiful and good about yourself. And the trick isn’t simply to eat a healthy bowl of food or try a new beauty product. Feeling good is first and foremost about a lifestyle. It’s a set of factors that are intrinsically linked with each other.

It’s about learning to take care of your inner beauty as well as your exterior self.

It’s about the food you eat and what you put on your face, but it’s also about how you manage your stress, your thoughts, the relationships you have with your loved ones and your work, and the choices you make every day, in every area of your life.

Here are a few ways to take care of both your body and spirit to help you shine on the inside and find an optimal balance in your life.

Physical, psychological, social, and ecological factors are considered to have an impact on our health and well-being.

Adopt a holistic approach

A holistic health approach is one that considers the entire person. Holistic comes from the world “holos” which means “whole”. Physical, psychological, social, and ecological factors are considered to have an impact on our health and well-being.

Feeling good is more than eating well. Maintaining healthy relationships with your loved ones, listening to your needs, learning to love yourself are also important factors for your health. Be aware that everything is related and every one of your choices affects your well-being.

Here are a few things you can do to take care of yourself in a holistic manner:

  • Exercise
  • Eat whole, healthy foods
  • Eat slowly and consciously (while avoiding distractions or television)
  • Get enough sleep
  • Drink enough water
  • Listen to your body’s needs
  • Explore your creativity
  • Learn to manage your stress
  • Take breaks from technology
  • Have a beauty ritual
  • Meditate for a few minutes every day
  • Pursue your passions
  • Think positively
  • Say goodbye to toxic relationships
  • Keep a journal
  • Maintain a clean home
  • Show gratitude

Make choices that are in harmony with nature

Pay special attention to the products you purchase and select ones that are made locally, are environmentally-friendly, and not made with any chemical products.

Why not also use healthier cosmetic products that honour your inner beauty and the planet’s health? Select plant-based products made from essential oils with a short list of ingredients.

The range of Jacynthe René natural products now offered at Brunet is a great alternative. Made from pure ingredients, they use the natural virtues of plants to help your beauty shine without harming the planet. Floral waters, rose serums, body oils… a vast array of products will soothe your body and soul.

You’ll take so much time looking elsewhere that you’ll forget to look inwards.

Stop comparing yourself to others

Even though we all know that one of the keys to feeling good is to love and accept yourself, we often spend too much energy comparing ourselves with others and trying to change to become like them. But not only is that counter-productive, it’s bad for your self-esteem and self-confidence.

By comparing yourself too much with others, you’ll end up thinking you’re not good enough. You’ll feel inadequate. And you’ll take so much time looking elsewhere that you’ll forget to look inwards.

Focus on your strengths, qualities, and values. Accept that you cannot be perfect (perfection does not exist!) and work to be the best version of yourself. The more you recognize your own virtues, the more you’ll radiate wellness and beauty.

Listen to your body

Learn to listen to your body’s signals and recognize imbalance. Are you stressed? Is something making you nervous? Are you having trouble concentrating?

The new Grace collection, designed exclusively for Brunet, is a great way to become familiar with the benefits of lithotherapy, thanks to lovely bracelets and accessories made from semi-precious stones. Each bracelet has a unique property. You can wear them to feel beautiful and they’ll help you feel better.

Here are a few stones and their properties:

  • Howlite: to help you during stressful periods
  • Obsidian: to help you make an important decision
  • Quartz Rose: to bring peace and harmony in your relationships with others
  • Lava stone: to bring physical and mental stability during difficult periods
  • Amazonite: to foster communication
