Instructions

This medication is contained in a patch that is to be applied to the affected area of your skin. To apply: thoroughly clean and dry the area. If necessary, cut the patch so that it fits the area to be treated, then apply the patch and press firmly.

Avoid touching the sticky side when handling the patch. When you change patches, you should wait about 30 minutes between taking off the old patch and putting on a new one. It is recommended to take a bath or shower at this time because the patches should not become wet. If the edge of the patch does not stick well on your skin, you can stick the peeling part only with first aid tape.

The patch may cause itching or a rash where it has been applied. If such a reaction persists, consult your pharmacist.

This medication is typically used only once a day. However, your pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed.

Cortisone products can thin the skin and increase the risk of skin infections. Do not use for longer than necessary.

Side Effects

In addition to its desired action, this medication may cause some side effects, notably:

  • it may cause spots or redness of the skin;
  • it may lighten the skin where it is applied.

Each person may react differently to a treatment. If you think this medication may be causing side effects (including those described here, or others), talk to your health care professional. He or she can help you to determine whether or not the medication is the source of the problem.

Storage

As with most medications, this product should be stored at room temperature. Store it in a secure location where it will not be exposed to excessive heat, moisture or direct sunlight. Make sure that used patches are disposed of safely as they still contain a considerable amount of drug.
