To get healthy skin even in the dead of winter, you need a special beauty routine. Say goodbye to dry skin, a red nose and chapped lips. Say hello to a radiant complexion, no matter how cold or windy it gets out there.
During the winter months, you need a soap-free, fragrance-free gentle cleanser. Avoid harsh ingredients that will damage skin’s natural moisture barrier. Keep your skin hydrated with a gentle cleanser that won’t dry out your skin.
Hot, but not too hot!
A hot bath or shower is a great way to relax during the winter, but you should be careful because it can also eliminate the skin’s natural oils. Opt for warm water and, instead of rubbing your skin with a towel, gently dab it to prevent dehydration and irritation.
The key to preventing dry skin that peels is keeping it moisturized. Exfoliating can be incredibly useful: apply an emollient moisturizer right after you exfoliate to prevent dry patches.
The best time for your skin to absorb a moisturizer is right after your bath or shower. When choosing a product, look for ingredients that repair the skin’s lipid barrier to prevent dehydration.

« Also look for hydrating agents such as hyaluronic acid. It’s ideal for repairing the skin’s lipid barrier and leaves your epidermis supple and hydrated. »
Serums are your friend
During the winter, we should all apply a serum before reaching for our daily moisturizer. Serums contain a concentrated dose of active ingredients and are generally sold as a gel or gel cream.
They’re designed to be applied as a moisturizer or a mask and are incredibly beneficial for your skin. They’ll give your skin the moisture it needs to look radiant!
No more red noses
Because your nose is always exposed to the elements, it can quickly become red and irritated. To avoid looking like Rudolph apply a foundation or tinted moisturizer after your usual daily moisturizer.
Then dab a second layer on your nose, nostrils, above your lips and on the corners of your mouth. Use a shade with green undertones to cancel out any redness. Finally, to make the products keep their hold, apply a mattifying powder with a sponge.
Dry your tears
Your cornea is sensitive to temperatures. When it gets cold, your eyes secrete tears. This is bad news when you’re wearing eye makeup! To avoid looking like a raccoon when you get to work, switch your regular mascara for a waterproof formula. You’ll be thankful you did!
Lip balm is an essential tool in winter. As soon as you feel your lips getting dry, gently exfoliate themwith a soft bristle toothbrush or a washcloth. Then moisturize them with a balm or cream.
You should also avoid matte lipsticks, which have a texture that can become clumped on dry areas. Your best ally? Ultra-pigmented glosses to add a touch of colour to your makeup during the winter months.
