Every woman knows that good hair makes for a great day! We love the feeling that comes when you walk out of a salon knowing that your hair looks fresh, bouncy, shiny and beautiful. Is there magic to achieving that perfect look? Not really, just some pro secrets that we can share with you!
Know your hair type. Some people think their hair is fine and limp, when in fact it's oily, or conversely, dry and in need of moisture. Deciphering your hair type is the crucial first step you need to take before you reach for any product or styling tool. Having trouble? Ask your hairdresser or a Brunet Beauty Pro!
The secret is in the prep. Before you begin blow drying and styling you should address your hair issues. Need volume? Want to tame frizz? Amp up your curls? Start with the specially formulated shampoo and conditioner that addresses your hair needs. Use a styling product and coat every strand.
The perfect blow out is the basis for a flawless look, so break out your hair dryer! Here's how to achieve a salon-perfect blow out:
- Rough dry hair with fingertips, lifting hair at roots, directing the dryer nozzle on them. This dries roots in a lifted position for va-va-voom volume!
- With a round brush, begin by drying small sections close to your face and at the crown. Wrap a small section of hair around the brush, direct the airflow down the hair shaft and pull as taut as you can. As you complete each section, roll it into a loose curl and secure it with a clip or use Velcro rollers.
- Continue blow drying until all your hair is dry and secured. Remove clips or rollers and style hair with your fingertips.
- Finally, rub a bit of shine serum between the palms of your hands and smooth over hair.
Style dry hair in the morning in less than 10 minutes!
For a sleek look: Spritz a leave-in conditioner on hair. Take 2-inch-wide sections of hair with a flat iron that has rounded plates. Drag the iron quickly to the ends, slightly turning your wrist as you go, as if you are curling a ribbon on a gift.
For gorgeous waves: dampen hair with a styling spray then smooth it, using a round brush and blow dryer. Once it's smooth, use a large barrel curling iron to create soft, spiraling waves at the ends. Tousle waves and use a bit of hair spray for a sexy, bedhead look.
For a fun, side bun: mist dry hair with spray gel to give it hold. Next brush hair to side, pile and twist it, folding it into a messy side bun. Secure with bobby pins.
